Schizostachyum caudatum, commonly known as Caudatum Bamboo, is a fast-growing, clumping bamboo species native to Southeast Asia, particularly found in Indonesia and Malaysia. This bamboo is highly regarded for its elegant appearance and versatility, making it a popular choice in both ornamental landscaping and functional applications. Schizostachyum caudatum typically reaches a height of 6 to 10 meters, with culms ranging from 1,5 to 4 cm in diameter, making it a medium to large-sized bamboo that can be used effectively for a variety of landscaping needs.

The culms of Schizostachyum caudatum are tall, straight, and slender, initially green in color before turning yellowish-brown or light brown as they mature. These culms have a smooth texture with noticeable nodes and internodes that give the plant a clean, elegant appearance. The plant has a dense, upright growth habit, forming clumps that provide excellent coverage and privacy. Its compact size and graceful appearance make it suitable for use as a hedge, privacy screen, or ornamental accent in gardens and landscapes.
